Meet Dr. Lejla Streets in Pinehurst

Dr. Lejla Streets has a unique approach to healthcare, focusing on uncovering the root causes of symptoms and supporting the body's natural healing process. With a background in Microbiology and Immunology, she brings a scientific perspective to her practice.

Originally born in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Dr. Streets grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. She pursued her education at Rochester University in New York, earning a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Immunology. Returning to Massachusetts, she attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.

After completing her studies, Dr. Streets joined the US Army as an Active Duty Dental Officer, serving on Fort Liberty for five years. During this time, she developed a deep interest in Obstructive Sleep apnea therapy and Orofacial Pain.

Dr. Streets' dedication to pediatric care was ignited by her own personal experience. When her son faced challenges with tongue tie and sleep issues, she realized the importance of proper diagnosis and treatment. Since then, she has been committed to providing comprehensive dental care to children and the underserved pediatric community.

Continuing her education, Dr. Streets has received training in various specialized areas, including biological and minimally invasive dentistry, interceptive orthodontics, Myofunctional therapy, biomimetic dentistry, sleep apnea treatments, Orofacial pain, and tongue- and lip-tie releases. This extensive knowledge allows her to offer a wide range of treatment options to her patients.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Streets enjoys an active lifestyle. She loves playing tennis, tending to her garden, practicing Yoga, hiking,coaching her children’s sports teams and spending time outdoors with her family. Her passion for holistic healthcare extends beyond the office, as she believes in the importance of maintaining a balanced and healthy life.

Dr. Streets is an Affiliate Member with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, The American Dental Association, and the American Laser Study Club. She also received her certificate in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. With over 900 hours of continuing education credits, Dr. Streets makes her commitment to learning in Pediatric Dentistry and Sleep Medicine a priority. She is a proud graduate of Dr. Baxter’s Tongue Tied Academy, Dr. Zaghi's The Breathe Institute The Breathe Course, and Dr. Pinto's Infant Frenectomy Protocol.
